About Me

Under my Thinking Tree, 1969

I’ve been and done many things in my life….

For as long as I can remember I wanted to be a fashion designer.  Luckily, I was able to actually live my dream and I loved it.  After college I spent time designing evening wear, then casual women’s knitwear, then I found something that really made my heart sing — lingerie.  After a foray into children’s wear and pet products I discovered that the old adage “all good things must come to an end” really is true.  I found myself drawn away from design and into product styling.  It filled my need for a job in a “creative” field and also provided a pretty darn good source of income.  If you’re ever in need of someone who can make a stack of sweaters or jar of jelly look like a million bucks — call me!

I’ve also served as a receptionist in a huge corporate law firm, sold surf gear to cowboys, been the “Romance Director” for a weekly news magazine, helped keep a bunch of rowdy (but great-hearted) construction workers in line while manning the front office of a general contractor in the Virgin Islands, served as pet-sitter, confidante and nursemaid to a more than slightly crazy photographer — the list goes on…   I’ve found over the years that sometimes you just have to let go and allow the world to take you where it knows you need to be (it usually works out best that way).

My husband (and best friend) is a luxury travel consultant so we have the distinct pleasure of getting to travel to some amazing places and do some pretty amazing things.  Our lives are filled with love, laughter and a lot of adventurous fun.  If you want a closer look at some of our travels, check out his photo blog, Andrew Rocchio Travel.

That’s me in a nutshell… I started this blog as a way of documenting my daily life — just in case I go crazy some day and want to look back and see what a great time I had.  Feel free to join me, life really is good!
